Physical Health

  • Set weekly self-care rituals – I do a face scrub every Wednesday and a face mask, deep conditioner and body scrub every Saturday
  • Invest in health insurance. I use Vitality
  • Get regular health MOTs - some gyms such as Nuffield offer these for free as part of your membership
  • Take advantage of any benefits your airline offers
  • Look after yourself in the sunshine – use sunscreen and a hat, and carry aftersun in case you do get burned!
  • Get a deep tissue full-body massage every 4-6 weeks. I use Bodyworks Day Spa in Crawley
  • Practise safe sex
  • Keep on top of First Aid knowledge
  • Invest in a chiropractor, especially if you have any kind of back or neck pain. I go to Crawley Spinal Health
  • If you are able to, be a blood donor. Not only are you doing a good deed, donating blood also has health benefits such as stabilising your iron levels and reducing your risk of heart attacks and strokes. However, flight attendants need to be careful of when they are able to donate blood - my airline’s manual states that we should not donate blood within 7 days of operating a flight
  • If you’re a smoker, cut down on the number of cigarettes you smoke in a day (or even better, quit all together)
  • Take care of your teeth. Brush and floss twice a day, mouthwash after each time you eat, and get regular dentist check-ups every 6 months
  • Consider getting colonic hydrotherapy. I go to Aqualibria in London
